THE RED LEATHER - STYLING
GENTLE TOUCH
WITH THIS SHOOT WE WANTED TO CREATE A SUBTLE, CALM FEEL TOWARDS THE PHOTOSHOOT WITH NEUTRAL COLOURS TAKING OVER THE BLACK BACKGROUND. AS A GROUP WE HAVE NEVER WORKED WITH A BLACK SCREEN, ALSO NEITHER A SPOTLIGHT. BUT THE RESULTS WERE VERY SUCCESSFUL, AND CREATED A SOOTHING ATMOSPHERE.
BEFORE THE SHOOT, WE THOUGHT WE WERE CREATING A BOLD, COLOURFUL SHOOT USING BRIGHTLY COLOURED EYELINER AND COLOURFUL FABRIC, HOWEVER WE FELT THAT THE WHOLE SHOOT WASN'T WORKING FOR US AT ALL, SO WE DECIDED TO KEEP THE BRIGHT EYELINER, AND THEN USE MORE NATURAL COLOURED CLOTHING. ALSO, SHOWING A BIT OF SKIN FROM THE MODEL ALSO GIVES THAT NATURAL, SOOTHING EFFECT TOWARDS THE PHOTOS TOO. THE SMALL POP OF COLOUR ADDITIONALLY GIVES THE WHOLE LOOK A SUBTLE DETAIL, MAKING IT INTERESTING FOR THE AUDIENCE.
ABOVE IS A QUICK MOODBOARD OF OUR IDEAS, AND STYLE WE WANTED OUR SECOND SHOOT TO LOOK, AND FEEL LIKE. WE WANTED IT TO RESEMBLE THE DARK SHADES CREATED FROM THE BLACK STUDIO SHEET WE HAD AS THE BACKGROUND. PLUS, INCORPORATING THE NEUTRAL COLOURS WITHIN THE SHOOT. ALL THE STANCES WERE TO BE NATURAL, AND RELAXED TO GIVE THE SHOOT THAT CALM NATURE OF IT, WHICH I FEEL THAT WE DID AS A GROUP SUCCESSFULLY.
